There are plenty of excellent bloggers in Galway and thanks to Sinead Carroll of Yummy Mummy Fashion & Lifestyle Blog, we occasionally get an opportunity to get together and mingle. The first meet-up was in the G Hotel in April. The second was on Sunday 10 August in the Gaslight Bar and Brassier at Hotel Meyrick.

It was great to  mix with other bloggers from the west, or bloggers who came to the west of Ireland specifically to meet new people. There were plenty of familiar faces at the event, but some new ones too, which was great because we’re all about meeting new people.

The location was ideal this time as it’s in the City Centre; near the bus and train station for those who traveled from afar, and with plenty of space for a large group of chattering bloggers. Non-alcoholic cocktails were provided, and the tables were weighed down with delicious food.

We were divided into groups and sat around tables (complete with name badges printed by Castle Print Galway, notepads and pens for taking notes). We discussed various different topics to do with blogging. The topic at my table was advertising. Soon after, we swapped around so we could get to know more bloggers, while enjoying the delicious food and cocktails on offer.

Some very welcome guests at the event were Wendy, Tracey and Colin from iNailz who spent the day printing up a range of different nails for bloggers, including Beyonce’s face, selfies and Kim Kardashian crying. Having a face on your nails isn’t exactly something I find attractive, but it was all very hilarious on the day.

There was also a table stacked with prizes sponsored by Heaven Scent Beauty Spa, Pixy Natural Skincare (one of my favourites), Foody Pharmacy, Fanny Crown Dresses, and GoBus.

Saibh of Saibh Egan Photography was on hand to take photographs of the event, all of which can be found on her blog. I’d like to thank her for giving me permission to repost some of those photos on my own blog.

The style on the day was great, and everyone was dressed up beautifully. I went in a simple outfit, but the makeup was what excited me most, as I chose to wear all-natural products, including Ginvera Green Tea BB Cream, which I discovered in my Powder Pocket Box a few months ago; Body Shop mascara, which I have found to be extremely durable and very nice to look at; and Benecos Natural Baked Colours Eye Shadow, which has been one of my favourite products since I first used it.

As you can see from the photographs, it all looks very natural and I was very pleased with the end result.

I was also lucky enough to win a lovely Aloe Vera chapstick and moisturiser from Forever, which I can’t wait to test out and review right here on my blog.

And most importantly, here’s a list of bloggers who attended so you can spend the day reading and discovering new blogs.

Overall, this was an excellent event and I look forward to seeing what Sinead plans next. I heard on the grapevine that the next one might be in November. I’ll certainly do my best to save the date.

Homemade Beauty: Natural Skincare Products by Wapo Beauty

Wapo 7

On Saturday 9 August I had the pleasure of travelling to Dublin to meet Mayca of Wapo Beauty and learn about the joys of natural and organic products at her promotional natural skincare workshop. By the end of the day, I had tonnes of extra knowledge on natural skincare and three products that I made myself and have been using ever since.

There was a limited number of places at this workshop and…
